THE HAWKEYE STATE

Iowa, the 29th state, birthplace of The Duke, John Wayne, and home to the mighty Black Hawk, Sauk Indian chief. who led his people in the Black Hawk War of 1832. 

Black Hawk fiercly led his people against American forces in an attempt to stave off United States expansion into Sauk territory. A few fun facts about Iowa: Iowa produces more corn that any other state, it's home to the largest truck stop in the world, and the University of Iowa was the first in the United States to enroll men and women equally.
